Comet Lovejoy C/2014 Q2 with M45 Pleiades Star Cluster Photo, On the 15th of January 2015 Comet Lovejoy Q2 buzzed past the Famous Open Star Cluster M45 Pleiades, also known as “The Seven Sisters Star Cluster”. I captured this wonderful image with a Canon 6D DSLR & 105mm lens, F5.0, ISO 800, 42 minute exposure on a tracking mount from my observatories in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
Jon Roe –
I have this photo from John. We bought it at John’s show in Chantilly, VA in February 2015. It is a spectacular photo and my favorite so far of all the ones I have from John. M45 has always been a favorite of mine and I have always tried to see comets as they cruise by. This is the best of both. Thanks John.
