Description

Comet PanSTARRS 2011 L4 was discovered in 2011 by a Professional Panoramic Survey Telescope, but took over a year to make the trek close enough to the Sun to brightened up in March of 2013, it then became visible to the unaided eye for the Southern Hemisphere, after its close approach to the Sun Comet PanSTAARS made its way to the Northern Hemisphere my March 12th and then was visible after Sunset in the West each evening. I captured this image at Valley Forge National Park in PA.(near Philly) on 03-14-2013. This image shows a jumbo jet with sunlit contrails zipping past the Comet, while the comet was at a bright Magnitude of 0.2. There was lots of air traffic that evening, so this shot was one of several photos ops that came my way that evening.
