M77 Seyfert Spiral Galaxy Photos – Seyfert type Galaxies are known to have a very active Nucleus, or Radio Galaxies and are often very compact. Its mass contains around 100 billion suns and is located in the constellation of Cetus the Whale. M77 is a very compact bright spiral located just southeast of Delta Ceti. M77 contains three distinct spiral structures, The bright inner orange section, the middle blue section, and the faint outer envelope seen in this image. Its distance is 60 million light years away, and it is as large as the milkyway, about 100,000 light years across.
